Events and Entertainment Director
Job purpose
Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Events department, including planning, development and implementation of the company’s marketing, branding, and events strategies and marketing communications, through inhouse as well as external agency efforts.
Duties and responsibilities
Monitor and Oversee Financial Management of the Department
- Strategic/Business Plan development, updating and monitoring;
- Ensures development of annual budget and cost management, within the context of Events.
Manage the Staff
- Ensures appropriate staffing consistent with needs and within the constraints of the organization’s physical and financial resources;
- Recruits, selects, orients and develops staff to meet standard performance;
- Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates the Events department’s work plan; assigns projects and programmatic responsibilities; reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems.
Develop, Plan and Deliver Programs and Services
- Designs and delivers events that meet the quality goal of NagaWorld as the top of the class entertainment destination in Indochina;
- Maintains and develops the brand image of NagaWorld;
- Oversees the company’s marketing efforts across all platforms and be responsible for planning, implementation and execution of marketing plans;
- Engages, vets, contracts with, builds and maintains working relationships with, and instructs external PR, event, marketing and branding agencies to support all areas of department work;
- Oversees the design, implementation and maintenance of event platforms for delivering NagaWorld’s main business objectives and programmatic content in a way that is accessible, cost-effective, and consistent with the organization’s mission, policies and standards;
- Maintains strong internal and external communications with all events stakeholders;
- Solicits and maintains marketing and vendor databases, guest and sponsorship prospect databases, and research.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Advertising/Media, Art/Design/Creative Multimedia, Mass Communications, Music/Performing Arts Studies, Hospitality/Tourism/Hotel Management or equivalent education required
- English Language proficiency, Mandarin dialect or any other Asian Language proficiency is a plus
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in conference/event planning, demonstrating increasing responsibility and successful execution of mission-driven events, as well as strong collaboration skills and innovative programming
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in dealing with or working for brand or marketing agencies
Working conditions
This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends and public holidays.
