ENGINEERING AND MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR
Job purpose
The Engineering and Maintenance Director is responsible for managing and supervising the maintenance operations of both exterior and interior facilities. This includes overseeing mechanical and electrical equipment, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems, plumbing, hot water systems, structure, grounds and landscaping, as well as implementing energy-saving measures. The role ensures the property is maintained in optimal and efficient condition, prioritizing the safety and comfort of guests and employees.
Duties and responsibilities
Ensure Compliance to Rules and Regulations
- Ensures compliance with all NagaWorld’s standards or relavant industry standards during all aspects of work
- Ensures all employees adherence to NagaWorld’s Code of Conduct, Internal Rules, and Regulations at all times
General Job Functions
- Develops and monitors strategic/business plans and budgets
- Recruits, selects, and develops staff
- Plans and coordinates maintenance and engineering operations
- Maintains essential systems (electricity, water, gas, etc.)
- Operates HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Coordinates services from outside contractors
- Keeps records of facility costs
- Responds to service requests
- Implements energy management programs
- Prepares capital expenditure and maintenance budgets
- Maintains spare parts and supplies inventory
- Develops preventive maintenance procedures
- Trains and supervises staff
- Ensures compliance with safety and fire laws
- Any other tasks assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Hotel Engineering Operations within a large scale of operations
- Preferably certified, such as Certified Engineering Operations Executive (C.E.O.E) or equivalent
- HVAC, air-cooled chiller, plumbing, and electrical experience or technical training preferred
- EPA, CPO, and HVAC certifications are a plus
- Advanced knowledge of building and project management/engineering with excellent and complete working knowledge of hotel facilities
- Thorough knowledge of applicable safety codes and regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PPT, Word, and Outlook
- English Language proficiency
Working conditions
This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
