Job purpose

The Hotel Sales Manager, based in Malaysia, operates under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Business Development, Hotel Sales. This role is responsible for executing all sales activities in their designated area, expanding business opportunities, and ensuring effective communication with clients and efficient coordination with relevant departments. The Hotel Sales Manager develops and implements sales strategies to maximize contributions from key MICE and Corporate accounts, aiming to achieve and exceed overall targets in the corporate group and MICE segments. This includes increasing productivity from existing accounts and securing new accounts to deliver and exceed the hotel’s fair market share.

Duties and responsibilities

Ensure Compliance to Rules and Regulations

  • Ensures compliance with all NagaWorld’s standards or relevant industry standards during all aspects of work
  • Ensures adherence to NagaWorld’s Code of Conduct, Internal Rules, and Regulations at all times

General Job Functions

  • Implements sales action plans and communicates effectively with customers
  • Conducts sales calls, site inspections, and manages key MICE accounts
  • Develops sales plans and provides proactive account management
  • Reports on market needs and sales activities
  • Sources new business opportunities and maintains high exposure in major markets
  • Implements energy management programs and oversees preventive maintenance
  • Coordinates with clients and internal departments for event planning
  • Maintains updated account histories and follows up on business leads
  • Analyzes competitor activities and maintains sales productivity
  • Provides training and development for team members
  • Any other tasks assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associate’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an international hotel chain with complex MICE facilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and adaptability to changes
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Understanding of hotel departmental impacts on business
  • Malaysian or Singaporean citizenship required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PPT, Word, and Outlook

Working conditions

This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
