Job purpose

The Laundry Manager is responsible for overseeing and supervising the laundry, dry cleaning, and uniform room operations. This role ensures the maintenance of clean linens, uniforms, and laundry, while also overseeing the procurement of linens and uniforms. The Laundry Manager is tasked with maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency within the laundry department, coordinating with other departments, and managing a team to deliver top-quality service.

Duties and responsibilities

Ensure Compliance to Rules and Regulations

  • Ensures compliance with all NagaWorld’s standards or relevant industry standards during all aspects of work
  • Ensures adherence to NagaWorld’s Code of Conduct, Internal Rules, and Regulations at all times

General Job Functions

  • Oversees financial management by developing and monitoring strategic/business plans and annual budgets for the laundry operation
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels consistent with organizational needs and available resources
  • Recruits and develops staff to meet performance standards while organizing and directing the laundry operation’s work plan
  • Directs laundry personnel to ensure a consistent supply of clean, neat, and quality linens and uniforms
  • Maintains linens according to hotel standards by monitoring their condition and implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Assigns and reviews work of laundry employees involved in various processes, including washing, ironing, and delivering laundry
  • Coordinates with maintenance for servicing equipment and addresses any defects reported by staff
  • Plans improvements in laundry management and operations, reporting equipment issues to the Executive Housekeeper and General Manager
  • Maintains stock levels of materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring proper arrangement and organization in the laundry area
  • Any other tasks assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education required
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in large-scale operations within an international hotel chain
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of the Opera system
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PPT, Word, and Outlook
  • English Language proficiency

Working conditions

This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
