Job purpose

  • The Sales Manager, Thailand develops opportunities to increase traffic visiting NagaWorld from the assigned market area.
  • Develops and executes sales strategies to maximize the contribution from key Leisure and MICE accounts and achieve the overall targets in the assigned segments.
  • This is to be carried out through marketplace penetration to increase the productivity of existing accounts as well as securing new accounts to deliver and exceed our fair market share.

Duties and responsibilities

Monitor and Oversee Financial Management of the Department

  • Assists in Strategic/Business Plan development, updating and monitoring for Thailand Travel Business Development function.

Develop, Plan and Deliver Programs and Services

  • Key account management of assigned portfolio / segment in Thailand and all source markets as assigned by Director of Business Development, Hotel Division;
  • Responsible for all strategies and action plans for Leisure and MICE key accounts, tactical promotions and communication, monitor its progress with a view to meeting and exceeding the sales revenue targets;
  • Actively looks for opportunities to increase traffic visiting NagaWorld from assigned market area mainly via trade channels;
  • Identifies the right partners and keeps an expanding travel trade and MICE network to collaborate with NagaWorld;
  • Maintains a good understanding of the assigned markets;
  • Takes lead in packaging (GIT/FIT/incentive/event related) travel products for travel agents or other third parties;
  • Ensures end travel products suit the needs of the clients;
  • Increases NagaWorld’s brand awareness in the travel trade in assigned market area through organizing familiarization trips, preparing trade newsletters, participating in selected trade shows, and other appropriate measures to key source markets as agreed and approved by DBD;
  • Keeps up to date and reports on the latest news, business opportunities, market trends, competitor activities regarding the travel trade landscape in the assigned markets;
  • Provides regular market intelligence and keep key data for such intelligence;
  • Responsible for all strategies and action plans for Leisure and MICE key accounts, tactical promotions and communication, monitor its progress with a view to meeting and exceeding the sales revenue targets;
  • Analyses performance of customers and monitors production and profitability;
  • Planning, implementing and monitoring of sales call plans, maintaining call notes, ensuring follow up and strategic account management;
  • Submits in a timely manner, daily, weekly and monthly sales activity reports and sales call plans.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration Management, Hotel Management or Hospitality or equivalent;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hospitality industries related to the job;
  • Experienced in international hotels preferred;
  • A knowledge of how each department in a hotel affects the business;
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PPT, Word and Outlook;
  • English language proficiency;
  • Possess good attitude and willing to accept changes or challenges, and patience to think of solutions to problem;
  • Possess good interpersonal skills.

Working conditions

This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends and public holidays.
