Job purpose

The Pastry Chef de Partie is responsible for upholding the highest standards of quality, preparation, and hygiene in the Pastry & Bakery section. This role is key to ensuring the delivery of exceptional products that contribute to optimal guest satisfaction and organizational profitability, all while fostering a positive team environment and maintaining high employee morale.

Duties and responsibilities

Ensure Compliance to Rules and Regulations

  • Ensures compliance with all NagaWorld’s standards or relevant industry standards during all aspects of work
  • Ensures adherence to NagaWorld’s Code of Conduct, Internal Rules, and Regulations at all times

General Job Functions 

  • Ensures prompt, courteous, and accurate service to all customers, consistently achieving a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Is responsible for implementing and maintaining hotel standards for food quality, preparation, and presentation in the Pastry & Bakery section
  • Recommends improvements to systems and procedures to increase efficiency and enhance service levels
  • Suggests new pastry and bakery recipes for the menu, introducing innovative ideas to delight guests
  • Maintains hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen and all workstations, ensuring compliance with predetermined health and safety standards
  • Controls food wastage effectively, ensuring minimal loss without compromising on the quality of food
  • Safeguards the security and safety of pastry and bakery items, as well as ingredients, ensuring their quality and safe use at all times
  • Ensures accurate and up-to-date maintenance of kitchen records at all times
  • Organizes and oversees the availability of ingredients, ensuring smooth operations and prompt service during all shifts
  • Fosters excellent communication within the kitchen team by maintaining logbooks and other forms of documentation as required by the Executive Pastry Chef
  • Any other tasks assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent education required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the pastry and bakery industry
  • Possession of a pastry certificate is advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PPT, Word, and Outlook
  • English Language proficiency

Working conditions

This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
