Job purpose

The Senior Sustainability Manager provides integrated support to all departments in understanding sustainability obligations (including higher standards of sustainability that go beyond compliance), planning and implementing initiatives, monitoring and reporting results. This includes the environmental, social, and governance aspects.

The roles is responsible to drive all issues related to corporate sustainability practices and strategies, sustainability trends and will work across functions to drive improvement in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and reporting thereof. Implementing the Company’s sustainability strategy and securing collaboration with internal and external stakeholders will be a major part of this role.

Duties and responsibilities

Ensure Compliance to Rules and Regulations

  • Ensures compliance with all NagaWorld’s standards or relevant industry standards during all aspects of work
  • Ensures adherence to NagaWorld’s Code of Conduct, Internal Rules, and Regulations at all times

General Job Functions

Sustainability leadership:

  • Provides necessary leadership to get buy-in and execute strategies for sustainability while working in close coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Develops strategies to proactively drive sustainable best practices throughout the organization

 Implement sustainability programs:

  • Analyzes current facilities and practices for opportunities to reduce energy and environmental footprint
  • Champions carbon emissions, energy, materials, waste, and water use reduction; recommends and implements programs to minimize usage and cost
  • Fosters a culture of sustainability through staff engagement

ESG data management and reporting:

  • Manages the collection, analysis, and reporting of sustainability data and metrics for the annual sustainability report, according to regulatory requirements and sustainability reporting standards and frameworks
  • Prepares the organization’s GHG inventory and manages the ISO 14064 verification process
  • Tracks monthly environmental performance and progress towards 2030 environmental targets
  • Prepares responses for ESG questionnaires and advances the organization’s ESG ratings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education required
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience related to the job
  • At least 2 years of work experience at a managerial level in a department dealing with sustainability and environmental systems development and implementation in a medium to large-sized corporation
  • Good understanding of sustainability reporting standards and frameworks (e.g., HKEX ESG Code, GRI Standards, ISSB Standards, and SASB Standards)
  • Working experience or knowledge of the GHG Protocol
  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) and Energy Management Systems (ISO 50001)
  • Strong communication skills for presenting ideas effectively
  • Competency in financial justification and experience in preparing business cases for project proposals
  • Knowledge of Power BI is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PPT, Word, and Outlook
  • English Language proficiency and Mandarin Language proficiency is a plus

Working conditions

This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
